Travels

James and I recently decided to delay our Japan trip to next year. To allow us more time to save up and plan for it. We would like to go during Sakura season (when all the cherry blossom trees are in bloom) which is usually at the end of March. Hopefully 2013 we can go!

Instead, we’ll probably be going to NYC during his birthday! He’s never been and I haven’t gone since 2005, it’ll be great! Exploring an amazing city like that, together.

I’m excited. I’m going to start planning things now! Looking up flights and hotel.

Well, you all know how time and money goes. No Japan again this year, didn’t do NYC last year.

But, this year we are going to the Smoky Mountains! And, his family is coming over for two weeks in June! After that I hope to do one more small trip. It’s hard because we don’t have a ton of money and James can only take off so much time from work (he’s already getting the two weeks for his parents in one block of time and that’s all but two of his vacation days).

But, saved money is for special fun and emergencies, right?!

rainonyourface asked: Hey there, been following your blog for a while, it's great :) Tell me something about yourself maybe? Like places you've been to and still want to go, and what other things are important to you. Oh and what music you like :) xx

Hi!

I have been to England a few times. My husband is from Newcastle, England, so that allows me to go once in a while. We used to visit each other every summer and winter break during college. I’ve been to London twice, it’s my favorite. Also I have been to Dublin, Paris, Toronto, New York City and Chicago.

Where I want to go? Everywhere else! Mostly I want to visit Japan and see more places here. Like the Grand Canyon and check out the coasts, there’s a lot of beauty here that I need to experience! I would love to go to New Zealand and India, Italy, Egypt, Germany, and an African hot air balloon safari!

The most important thing to me is the happiness of the ones I love. Other types of things are intelligence, awareness, writing my book, being published one day, getting a job. People appreciating their life is important to me. The world is important to me.

I like a lot of different music. I would still consider Muse to be my favorite band, but that’s talking about their first three albums. I like things from Royksopp to Champions of Breakfast, from Phillip Glass to Awolnation. Which is rock, classical, indie, english alt, fun, high energy, emotional and thought provoking. I like Pink Floyd and The Shins and Lana Del Rey and La Roux!

Thank you for the questions! I hope my answers are enjoyable to read. I really appreciated your time and thought to ask me, I enjoyed thinking about the answers!

A little back and forth: USA tips?

dressesdancingandtv:

Hubz and I (and Amanda and her bf) are planning to go to New York in the autumn of 2013 (Amanda and her bf are off to Thailand for 3 weeks soon, so I think it’s better to aim for 2013 for a trip together) and J just suggested we go somewhere else while we’re there.

There are lots of great places…

I couldn’t fit it all into the reply.

But, South Carolina I hear is just beautiful.I’ve never been, but my brother has and he loved it. He told me about the firefly phenomenon, which is like thousands of female fireflys lighting up all at once. Sounds so great.

Also, Niagara Falls! Not far and really nice! Of course I want to boast about how wonderful, beautiful and amazing Michigan is. We have woods, cliffs, cities, beaches, wonderful wonderful beaches, spectacular sights, hiking, urban, and more! I have to explore it more myself. But, limited time and money I understand =]

Washington DC is a place I would love to go to as well, you should def go, I hear great things! It’s all government owned so it’s very clean, with bright big white buildings, but not skyscrapers. It’s also very diverse.

Obviously you’ve already got the best place already picked out, NYC is a heart pounding amazingly good place to go to. I love it and I would love to go back some day soon with James.

That’s all I have for now! I just sort of ended up rambling on there, haha

LONDON + NORTHEAST ENGLAND

I just realized I haven’t posted any pictures and blabbed about my trip! It was amazing and I miss it already (even though there really IS no place like home) and I have to show and tell!

I pranced around london in my red sixties dress and purple converse. It didn’t go well together at all but I love my dress and I had to have comfy shoes! What can I say? I also really indulged in my girly side while in England. There are so many opportunites to! Now I have to find more girlyness here…

Pictures soon =]
