For a lot of reasons, it’s hard to get into it really.
For one thing, a lot of times they’re not hard to read. I like to have fun when I’m reading, to really enjoy and get into the stories and characters. I still haven’t finished Game of Thrones, it’s so huge and complex. I know it’s not a hard read but I just keep going back to YA novels instead.
I have recently been reading a ton of dystopian novels, those and apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic have always been some of my favorite genres, but when I was writing my novel, reading an excessive amount was helpful. I was able to distinguish things I liked or didn’t like and utilize that information for my book. Plus, all the books were so fun to read, I got most of them pretty cheap on my kindle.
I buy more books than I read, I can’t stop! There are so many more that I want too.
I like my series to match so if I start buying a book in a certain format with a certain cover (trade paperback with a certain stylized cover) I like to have all the books in that series match. Not to mention trade paperback being my favorite and you rarely see YA in mass =]
I relish having signed books and first editions. It’s just that much better. I would prefer to meet the author and have them sign a book, but the signing is enough. Singed on a first edition is the best. I am OPENING UP TO YOU ALL HERE. I am a little CRAZY. I’m the same with movies, I like them to all match, why can’t I get my movies signed?! I love to get the special editions that Target or Best Buy sell. If they did special editions of books, oh dear would I go insane. I would probably have to get 10 copies of each book I really wanted from all over the place!
YA’s I read this year?
(I just bought the Maze Runner and am getting A Million Suns, Crossed, Outpost and Once from the library when my hold is up.)

3/5 stars
When I first started reading this novel, I had high expectations that were being let down early on.
I’m not sure exactly what I was hoping fore, maybe for less vain and self indulgent/obsessed characters that I could root for or at least want to relate to. Instead I found I…
4.5/5 stars (it’s hard to give ratings with just 5 stars, I might have to change to 10!)
Given that I just finished this book, I want to say a lot with out giving anything away.
I had a hard time rating it. I’ve been reading a lot of dystopian novels lately, and I was very happy with this…
Insurgent comes out soon! I’m applying to receive an Advance Reading Copy though, I am so excited to read the book. I hope they send me one, really help me in this world of books and reviews.
Hence the reblog.
