I think you guys are really going to like the owl plushie ornaments I’ve been making for the gift shop. They’ve been difficult to make, making smaller things in felt can be so much harder! Getting the little pieces in the right place and making it look good.

They don’t like owls as much as my big ones, well at least that’s what I think. I’m my own worst critic. James says they look good and cute. I’ve been working on improving the design of them, each one is quite different!

I’ll take a picture of the 5 or 6 I’ve made tomorrow (I may finish the sixth one first) and you guys can let me know what you think??

BRING ON CHRISTMAS!

James and I dressed up as Hogwarts students. I was Ravenclaw and he was Slytherin, we weren’t anyone in particular, we ARE Hogwarts students!

I think our costumes were awesome… We didn’t take many pictures but the costumes are easy to put on. I’ll make James dress up with me sometime to take a picture so you can all see!

We had robes, ties, wands, button downs with sweaters, I had skirt and stockings, we looked the part! James even made us badges!

I went to a sort of “interview” where I showed the Art Director at Starkweather Alley Arts Center my plushies!

I went into the store on Sunday to look around and we started talking about how they sell things in the store. I told her I make plushies and she seemed interested in seeing them, for the possiblitiy of adding them to the Christmas gift shop! Today I called and offered to bring my my things.

She really liked my plushies! And, she seemed really excited to sell them. She even commissioned me to make my owl plushies smaller and make them into ornaments. Saying there is no garuntee, she thinks my things have great potention to do pretty decent =]

I’m excited, even if nothing sells, I have my things in a store! Now all I need to do is get some business cards so people know who I am…

p.s. I applied to Target… I so need a job

My Mom and I went to a few places this morning to get some Christmas gift ideas! Who says you can’t be in the Halloween and Christmas spirit at the same time?

Mom, Dad, James and I went to Royal Oak and met my brother for lunch. The city had an event for little kids to go trick or treating at the businesses. When we went to one of my favorite stores, Lift, I went up to the counter and asked “what would happen if I said oogie boogie?” which was the password they posted on facebook to get a free toy, for kids in costume… But the guy who works there recognizes me since I’m there all the time, and he said ” then, you get a free toy!”

Something fun and kind of exciting has the potential to happen for me. It’s likely not to, so I won’t say for now =]

James and I are eating his favorite cheese… Oh what’s it called! It’s softer, creamy with cranberries and maybe some nuts in it? Anyway, that and some nice bread (onion and dill, they don’t SEEM to go together, but nice bread and nice cheese is yummy either way!), and we’re watching Event Horizon. I wanted to watch a scary movie to get into the halloween spirit. I’ve been going crazy thinking about Christmas and wanted to enjoy the holiday that’s actually around the corner.

I hope it’s a fun movie!

I want to clean my room. Not just clean it, but make it more livable, we have so much stuff in there. But, this is a smaller house and there isn’t room for things anywhere!

I also want to rearrange the room a bit… I want to make it nice and at least LOOK like there’s more room.
